correct colors in your photos. The correct colors in a photo are only achieved
when the camera knows the correct White Balance value.
Also setting the camera to Automatic White Balance most of the time it has
problems with calculating the correct White Balance value, resulting in
photos with incorrect, ugly colors and unwanted colorcasts.
Using a Gray Card (also called White Balance Reference card) for setting the
precise value for the White Balance results in correct, very pleasing colors!

How to use the FocusFX.nl Gray Card with digital photos?

Using the FocusFX.nl Gray Card is easy:

• Set your camera on Automatic White Balance

• Take an photo of the FocusFX.nl Gray Card in the same lighting as your
  subject will be (hold it in front of you, put it somewhere on your subject
  or let your subject hold it faced to the camera).
  Only use the side of the card with the logo on it.

• This first photo will be your reference photo that you can use for setting
  the correct White Balance value for the rest of the photos from the same shoot.

• Put the Gray Card away and take your normal photos.

• When the lighting conditions change take a new reference photo again using
  the Gray Card in the same way you did before.

• Again put the Gray Card away and take your normal photos.

• After the entire shoot copy all the photos including the reference photos to
  your computer and open them in your RAW-converter (for RAW photos)
  or other photo-editing program (for JPG or TIFF photos).

• For RAW photos: Open the reference photo, select the White Balance
  Pick tool and click in the photo on the FocusFX.nl Gray Card.
  The White Balance value in your reference photo will be corrected and you

• For JPG or TIFF photos: Open the reference photo, select the Gray Point
  tool and click in the photo on the FocusFX.nl Gray Card.
  The White Balance value in your reference photo will be corrected and you
  can see the colors change to the correct colors!
  Copy the White Balance value (save the Levels or Curves settings)
  of this reference photo to the rest of the photos of the same shoot
  (the photos taken in the same lighting conditions).
